TEAM stands for Tomorrows Educators for the Advancement of Multiculturalism and is a registered student organization affiliated with the Michigan State University College of Education. All students from all colleges and all majors at MSU are welcome to join. One great thing about TEAM is that we do not require dues to join. That's right, there are NO DUES! TEAM enjoys having fun, providing service to the community, learning about multiculturalism and education, and most of all being a supportive family. TEAM has a relaxed setting which we hope fosters the making of lifelong friendships.
Being a part of TEAM will allow you the opportunity to get to know and learn from fellow students who share the same desire and interests in education and multiculturalism. Here at MSU, it may be difficult at times to truly grasp the concept of multiculturalism and what it means to you as a future educator. That is why TEAM is the perfect organization for you! We are here when you need us and throughout your time with TEAM we hope to provide you with the opportunity to learn how to work in groups with your peers, reach out to students and fellow peers, volunteer throughout the community, and learn more about topics in education such as; special education, media literacy, classroom management, race, gender, students and language, multiculturalism, and more.

TEAM
meets for general meetings every month. Each month TEAM focus on a different topic related to
multiculturalism in the classroom and how different social identities
work in society and in our educational system. In the past discussion
topics have included race, gender, disabilities, English language
learners, media literacy, etc.

In
order to fund our community service events, TEAM organizes multiple fundraising events during the year. In the past, we have collected pop
cans, organized dinner fundraisers at Mongolian BBQ, had a bake sale,
etc. The money raised for these events goes towards a scholarship for a local Lansing student.

Each
month TEAM tries to participate a community service
event that allows TEAM members to get involved in the greater East Lansing
area communities, especially with children. Past events have included
hosting a safe 'Trick or Treat' for a local elementary school,
collecting crayons for a local elementary school, running activities for
children at the College of Education tailgate, cooking dinner for the
residents at the Ronald McDonald House, etc.
